contract or no contrct

If i held a party at my apartments club house am i liable for soaps and lotions that they claim were in the batroom before my party? i never signed a contract but they say by giving them a deposit that i made a legal contract.

You had a contract. It doesn't have to be in writing. They gave you use of the clubhouse, you paid a deposit, and you held a party at the clubhouse. The contract is proven by the actions.

As to the soaps and lotions, some of that can be expected to be used up when there's a party, and that's part of the rental. But if the materials were looted by your invitees, then you're responsible.
