Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

If a contractor hires an attorney to send a demand letter for payment but then continues to contact the defendant, is this considered harrassment? Also, if the attorney calls members outside the suit to possibly sway a decision and yet never contacts the defendants other than mail, has the attorney committed an ethics violation?

The answers are no, no, and no.

These people are trying to scare money out of you without having to file a lawsuit (they are lazy folks). Ignore them. Don't talk to them. Don't answer their letters.

If they sue you, and serve you with a citation, THAT'S when you need to pay attention to them.
