Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Co-Signer Rights

I co-purchased a truck with my x-boyfriend. I found out that he has 3 DWI's, suspended license and no insurance. I asked the lender to let me out of the contract and they would not. My X says that within a few months he should be able to have the truck financed without me, but I want out of this contact immediately.

Re: Co-Signer Rights

You're not going to get out at all - now, later or immediately. If you are a co-buyer you have a right to possession of the vehicle. If you have a key, you can pick it up. If not, you have to go to court to enforce your rights. Good Luck
