Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas
credit card collections
I stopped paying on my credit cards in sept. 2005.
all were settled for a lesser amount except for 3 of the largest ones. when my attorney contacted them with an offer they informed her that these accounts had been deemed uncollectable and written off.
that is what is on my credit report also.
yesturday i received a letter stating that these debts had been bought and the letter is an attempt to collect the debts.
not sure what to do.

Re: credit card collections
Try the settlement routine again - for less money. Start @ 20%. Make sure they will take it off your credit report. Get it in writing. Good Luck
