Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Credit Card Company Says I can't cancel my own credit card, places hold on card

Have a credit card & have done a number of online transactions with it recently. Tried to order online today-card wouldn't work. Called BOA & they started asking me personal questions-I answered the first person, was given to a 2nd person-asked the same questions again-told her I had already been asked by the 1st person, answered them, when I wouldn't answer my date of birth, she got ugly & said, ''You don't REMEMBER your date of birth?'' Then asked to speak to a supervisor, had trouble getting her to let me talk to one. I complained about her to the manager. He started asking the same questions-told him I was just talking to him because of the rep.'s rudeness. He told me a hold had been placed on my account & wanted to know who lived in my household, said he had the names of my family members & mentioned something about investigating. I wouldn't tell him my family's names. I told him I would be cancelling my card-he said ''You CANNOT cancel the card.'' I'm the only person listed on the card, the only one to use it & have paid on time-balance was paid in full last month. What can they do? Concerned that some recent transactions placed, have been mailed & sellers' payment will be stopped by BOA. What can happen/what do I do?
