Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

credit card debt

I asked you a question on 3-6-07 and today is 3-22-07, that is 16 days so could you please answer my question:

If you have a credit card judgement in one spouses name, and you have three vehicles in both names, but one is a welding truck used in a trade, can they take either one of the vehicles or would it be better if the vehicles were in seperate names?

You may notice that attorneys on this site are reluctant to answer questions relating to how to get away with unethical or illegal behavior. It is unethical for attorneys to offer such advice.

Re: credit card debt

Exempt from creditors in Texas are a car for each driver in a household. Also tools of trade are exempt which would probably cover the welding truck.

Re: credit card debt

Sharon Campbell gave you a good answer. The fact that the debt is in one spouse's name doesn't alter the fact that it's a community debt.

Having bitched about waiting for free advice, I'd expect you to offer free welding work to a church or charitable organization.
