credit card debt and collection issues

if a credit card debt that has been charged off by the original credit card company and has not been paid for over 5 years can a company that buys the debt from a credit card company garnish wages

There is no garnishment of wages in Texas by general creditors. Period. The statute of limitations for suit on a debt is 4 years. By filing the suit outside the statute of limitations, they have violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices. You need to hire an attorney to represent you in the debt defense case and to file a FDCPA case for you.
