Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas
Credit card debt of deceased spouse
Am I responsible for a credit card debt of my deceased spouse?
I was not on the account, He was the sole owner of the account. I did call the company upon his death 5 months ago. I received a collection notice addressed to his estate this week. What am I to do?
Please advise.

Re: Credit card debt of deceased spouse
If the account was your spouse's only, you are not responsible for it. If an estate was opened for your spouse, you should forward the letter to the executor or administrator. Otherwise, don't worry about it.
