Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas
Credit Card Debt
I would like to know what I can do about my credit card debt? I'm in over my head and I receive government assistance for my income. And my health is getting worse. Can I file bankruptcy or judgement proof if I can't afford a lawyer?

Re: Credit Card Debt
You can file bankruptcy without a lawyer, if you are willing to put in the time for the learning curve. The laws change on October 17, where getting a discharge in bankruptcy becomes much more difficult.
Check with Nolo Press to see if they have a book on filing for bankruptcy.
