credit card debt

my husband died in june, he has a credit card with chase, the tell me i am responsiable. the want me to get the equity from my house, what can they do

Tell 'em to get lost or make a claim against his estate. Send them a written letter telling them to stop calling you or hang up on them every time they call. Takes a while, but they will finally quit calling.

Try to get the name of the person calling, and you can write Chase or hire a lawyer as this is unfair debt collection..and Chase and the collecotr is liable for damages, attorney fees, etc....unless you were on the credit card with you husband..not merely using it ..but the bill comes to both..if not, you are not responsible,
