Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Credit Card Debt

My husband received a summons for an old CC balance of $2700. I called and they will only settle for $2400. Should he just go before the judge and tell him we have no money? They will not even take into consideration if I start paying $100 a month.

Re: Credit Card Debt

File an answer to the lawsuit..and deny the correctamount of the debt..ie..late cahrges, interest increase...etc..as you don't know if they are accurate..and you may consider hiring a lawyer..but do not enter an agreemetn and pay $100 a month unless you are certain..but CC normally does not settle..and at worse it will be on your credit reports..but it already is..good luck
