Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Credit card debt

My husband recently was laid off and we have not paid on 4 major credit cards (Visa/Mastercard) for approximately 3 months and it does not look like we are going to be able to make payments for quite a while. These are the cards we had with higher bablances therefore higher payments. We have continued to pay all of our other visa and mastercard accounts that have lower balances and lower payments. We were forced to file bankruptcy 6 years ago so that is not an option for us now (nor did we want to have to do that again). My question is: What are the legal repercussions we could encounter from the credit card companies we have not been able to pay?

Mr. Macleaish is a very capable attorney and I would not disagree with his answer. I would only add that if a credit card co. does get a judgment against you, the effects last much longer than a bankruptcy. Why don't you talk to Mr. Macleaish and see if you can stall them for a year and consider the possibility of another bankruptcy. Movie stars do it, why not you? Good Luck.
