Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Credit card debt

My husband recently lost his job and I oew collectively almost 25,000 in unsecured credit card debit. I can't pay it and I don't want to go in to bankruptcy. What are mu options?

Conact the credit card people..preferably by phone and in writing asking for drastic reduction in interest...to 2 0r 3%, tell them you cannot pay...but want to pay when income comes in..and/or..do nothing, they can sue but you will have nothing they can take...Pay all you can ie home, food, utilities, car..etc which should come first....if cred card harasses...tell them in writing to stop..Bankruptcy should be last option but chap 13..may be considered
