Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas
Credit Card Debt
Long story short. Wife was handling bills. We are now going through divorce. No payments have been made on my cards since 08/08. i have tried to work with the creditors for time for my house to sell so I can pay them. They want minimum payments which I don't have. They are threatening ''Charge off'' I have already got late pays all over my credit report. I was told that it would be meaningless to pay anything at this time because it won't help me anyway. Need an answer fast as to what would be the best option to make it where I could re-build my credit faster after the divorce is settled. Please help, I only have about 5 days to make anything happen.

Re: Credit Card Debt
Personally I would never sell me house to pay credit card debt. That's a personal opinion, not a legal opinion. They already have your credit messed up. Get on with your life. If you want to do something to contest the credit cards, you might consider bankruptcy. You credit will recover in time. Good Luck.
