Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas
Credit Card Debt
If I can not pay my credit card debt due to reduced income, would it be beneficial to sign up with a consumer credit counseling company and give them power of attorney to negotiate with my creditors, or would it be best to file bankruptcy?

I would certainly recommend the former, since bankruptcy is usually a "last resort" type situation. You can always file if the negotiations fail.
