Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

credit card default

I recieved papers today stateing i am being sued for $1557.00. I am to appear before a J.P. in 10 days.This is the Texaco Co. What action can be taken against me? What if i don't show up?Will they take an offer?

If you show up and they don't, ask the Judge to dismiss the case with prejudice...If you do not show up, you may be surprised by outrageous interest or attorney fees...so show up and protect yourself...deny owing what the ask for..and if you can, call the attorney and ask for a settlement figure...as low as you can pay...
