credit card and disability in texas

my husband and i are disabled we just got a court date for a credit card dept. can they get money from us? i heard the law in texas is they cannot because we recieve government money, is this true? thankyou

If they get a judgment and know where you bank, they can garnish the bank account ..so if you deposit your government checks..they may get the money..Y
