Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas
credit card judgements
I was called by a collection attorney in Houston who is threatening to get a judgement on an old credit card debt. He says the summons will be forthcoming. I need to check the SOL, it could be expired.
Should I hire an attorney if the SOL is still within 4 years? Can they garnish wages in TX? Should I close my bank account?
Thanks for any help on this matter.

Re: credit card judgements
Current wages cannot be garnisheed in Texas for a credit card debt. Your bank account may be.
If the debt is older than four years you should get a lawyer to defend you.
