Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

resently my wife took a new credit card ,transfered the balences from others to it at no intrest for a year--name removed--

paying more than the minimum amount due each and every month she just happen to mail a payment to them before the billing statement came and they credited that payment to the previous month when they notified her that they had not received the payment and were going to start charging 19.9 % intrest she promptly call the cards billing office to get an explanation after reveiwing the records they admitted to making a mistake but there was nothing they could do and told her she would have to continue to pay the intrest which she told them she would not and she would resume paying the card when they corrected their mistake they have turned the amount due to a collection firm what action can we take to get this resolved?

It depends on the amount involved for most lawyers to take on a contingency.....and I presume she has all her records..but it sounds like a clear violation of deceptive trade practices...and you will need a lawyer..or someone to write strong letters, keep copies, etc to prepare your case..
