Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas
Credit Card
I shredded a credit card four years ago. Now they call me and tell me I owe a lot of money. What do I need to do to prove this is not my obligation?

Re: Credit Card
Hire an attorney to defend you. It is their burden to prove its your obligation. They probably can't do it. It's a very defensible case.

Re: Credit Card
Hire a lawyer to get involved with your defense.
In the meantime, write to them, certified mail, denying that the debt is yours, and that all subsequent communications are to be in writing. If an agency is calling, add a request for identification of the true creditor in your letter.
