Credit

I have credit cards outstanding since Oct 2002. Continue to get different grous call me for the same debt. I thought there was a time period of 4 years and they could be considered uncollectable. What are my option to get them off the credit report or negociate?

The statute of limitations for suit on a debt in Texas is 4 years. They can be reported on your credit report for 7 years from the date of last activity. They can still try to collect by calling or sending letters, they just can't file suit. You can send them a letter telling them to cease and desist from any communication with you regarding the debt and they have to stop.
