Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Creditor Refused Communication

My wife and I borrowed $1,400 from her employer. She then refused to communicate with us, yet demanded her money back. She hung up on my wife when she would call, and never responded to the letters we sent - which were certified mail. We have them refused, still in the sealed envelopes. She sent us a 1099-C Cancellation of Debt, which we filed on our income taxes. She then stated she reversed that and sent a copy to the IRS - neither we nor the IRS received the reversal of the 1099-C. Now she is suing us. Is there any legal way to dispute this in court?

Re: Creditor Refused Communication

What's there to dispute? You and your wife borrowed $1,400.00, and you haven't paid it back. If you put up a really good fight, you should be able to run up the plaintiff's attorney fees to well beyond the original debt, and that will be part of the judgment against you.

PAY THE MONEY.
