Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas
dead accounts
I have a credit account from 16 years ago that was not paid. It is no longer in my credit report. I am receiving calls from a collection company who bought this ''dead account''. I have read that if you pay one of these, it will go back on your credit report. What is the legality of this?

Re: dead accounts
The statute of limitations for suit on a debt in Texas is four years. Tell them to stop calling you. If you know who they are, send them a letter, certified mail, return receipt requested, telling them to cease all communication with you regarding the debt.
