Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas
Debt Collections
This company calls us several times a day, but instead of leaving a message with who they are, they will instead call out my husband's name as if they are a friend and need to speak with him. Then we receive numerous calls from a guy who says that he needs to make a decision on our account (does not say who he is with or who the account is with or what it is for) and needs to talk to us to make an informed decision. My question..is this deceptive representation and is there anything we can do about it?

If you don't have caller i.d. you'll have to speak with the telephone company about the harassing calls, and have them put a trap on the line to identify the caller. Then file a complaint with the DA's office.
