Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas
debt collector
I was contacted by a debt collector about a debt I'am disputing. cingular Wireless claims I owe them 300 dollars. I dont owe them anything, but they've turned my case over to a collection agency. I reported them to the FCC and they have since apologized but will not guarantee me that the collection agency issue has been resolved. I dont want to pay the fees they claim I owe because as far as I'm concerned I still dont owe them. They claim I broke my contract, but they refused to provide me a copy of the contract untill I reported them to the FCC. Now they've mailed me something that looks like a contract of some sort, but I never signed it or recall ever agreeing to it. What can I do about the collection agency that keeps calling me at work threataning to report me to a credit agency? What can I do about cingular and their claim that I owe them 300 dollars?
