Debt elimination

Are any of these ''debt elimination'' companies, that state they can erase debt legally, legitimate or is this another scam? Can you truly eliminate revolving debt by disputing the validity of the debt?

Every debt elimination company I have encountered, has managed to destroy people's lives, cost them thousands of dollars, and disappeared shortly afterwards.

Some debts can be legitimately disputed. Consult an attorney for the guidelines. Also the Attorney General has an excellent checklist on their website.

Non-profit organizations such as Consumer Credit will assist you with legitimate advice on resolving outstanding debt.
