Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

debt settled

I settled a debt for 50% of what they said i owed and i have paid it and now they are saying they are not going to agree to it any more i asked then to send it in writing and they said they couldnt and i talk to managers and they agreed to the 50% and now know one will return my calls it was a verbale agreement so does it count and they said they was recording it and i asked then for copies of the tapes and they told me they cant do that so what can i do to get it off my credit since i paid it.

This is a common ploy of debto collectors and you probably have a lawsuit for unfair debt collection practices..but what damage has it caused you..have you a recent credit report or had credit denied?
