Debts owed as a minor

My wife recently found out she owed money to a hospital for an emergency room service performed when she was still a minor. Is she responcible for this debt or are her parents? If its her parents, how can she go about removing this debt from her credit?

Re: Debts owed as a minor

She should send a letter of protest with a copy of her driver's license to prove she was a minor at the time the bill was incurred presuming she was still living at home and was not an emancipated minor.
