Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Deceased Persons Debt

My sister passed away last year and now I am starting to get ''her'' bills (utility, credit cards, medical, etc.) stating that if I do not pay off her bills that I will be reported to collection agencies, etc. Am I legally responsible for her debts? Do I have to pay off someone elses debt just because we were related? We did not live together nor did I co-sign for her on anything.

Re: Deceased Persons Debt

All debts should be paid by her estate in probate for assets, if any. None by you or anyone else. You may have a right to unfair collection practices.
