Default Date

How is the ''default date'' on credit card debt determined? I'm trying to determine if the 4 year statute of limitations is expired on credit card debt which my husband's ex-wife failed to pay.

The default date is the date a payment was due after the last payment was made on the account;i.e. the date for payment from the following month's billing.
