Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

I defaulted on a credit card in 2003. In 2005, I made arrangement with a collection agency to pay 2,500.00 which I have proof of payment. I recently received a citation stating that I'm being sued by a different company for this same debt. When I prepare my answer to the court, should I state that the debt has been paid?

yes...and contact a lawyer..it could be the collection company did not pay..and you are being sued frivolously...good luck..but swear to your answer to the Court before a Notary..
