Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Defendants rights

This former employer wants to take me to court for some money that I owe him, the thing is I only owe him 20.00 and I am giving him payments. I have receipts to prove it. Can they do this, even though I am making payments?

Yes, they can. The issue is whether they can make it stick. If you've been paying them, and they only have $20 to go, you'll have ample opportunity to show that to the court.
