Defermation of character by property management company trying to keep deposit as the unit was cleaned. what can i do to pursue matter further?

"Defamation of character?" They are talking badly about you?

If they kept your deposit without cause, then you can sue them in small claims court to get it back but if you do not have photos of the cleaned property, then it will be your word against the word of their manager and maintenance people, I'm sure.
