Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

My ex-husband had a lien on a lawsuit because of back child support, he asked me to forgive the back child support in lieu of a smaller payment from his settlement. The original amount of back child support was approximately $11,000.00. Is there a standard percentage I should ask for or is it strickly a personal choice?

It's strictly a personal choice.

Why would you want to agree to less than what you're entitled to?

Also, if the Attorney General is involved, you'll need their cooperation if you agree to take some lesser amount of the settlement.
