Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Ex-Husband's car was repossesed and I have to pay, but wasn't notified.

My ex-husband's car was repossesed and no one called me to give me the

chance to pay in full or obtain any property from it, yet when I tried to

dispute it after finding it on my credit, I was told I was responsible. Even

though the guy from the credit company told me my ex admitted I had

nothing to do with it and it was his vehicle, my name was forged on the

documents (not the first time, he did that on a tax refund and other things). I

thought the law entitled the debter to a period of time to pay for and claim

items from the vehicle. I live in Texas, the car was purchased and repossesed

in North Carolina.

In order for you to have claims on this case in TX, the collection agency would have to be in violation of TX law. You should try to find a lawyer in your area to look at the documents in this case to assert your claims.
