Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

false info reported to credit bureaus

There is a company that I used that offered to help me get a line of credit for a fee. The service was provided and I paid the percentage owed. Within a matter of weeks I went through my credit union to get another line of credit for debt consolidation and was approved. The owner of the company found out I was approved for that line of credit through a mutual associate and claims that I must pay a fee for the line of credit I retreived from my credit union because I sign a contract (which I did not sign) stating that I could not get a line of credit anywhere 108 days after doing business with them. I refuse to pay and now they are saying there going to report it to the credit agencies. I never sign that contract and even if I did is what there doing legal? Also how can I avoid this from being place on my credit report?

Re: false info reported to credit bureaus

Interesting claim..but it sounds like an empty threat and if it is on your credit report..you could sue..
