Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas
family law/credit card bills
My mother just recently died. She left behind 2 huge credit card bills. Am I obligated to pay these? What will happen if I don't? I have made payment arrangements but signed nothing. The payments are high. My mom did own her home but the tax value is less than $5000.00. What can I do legally and what will they do? Please advise

Re: family law/credit card bills
Unless you sign and guarantee the bills, you owe nothing. creditors have to go thru probate to collect from the estate..and if there is nothing they could not be paid...
