Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Financial Woe

This is probably a dumb question. My son owes me $2200 for a personal loan and merchandise purchases for his now-defunct business. He promised to pay when wife received inheritance. I trusted him, because he is my son, to repay. Now he says he doesn't owe me any money because we never put it in writing. Am I screwed? Is there anything legal I can do to get my money?

Re: Financial Woe

You can sue him in Small Claims. The difficulty may be in proving up how much you loaned him, and a promise to pay it back. Hard, unless you have some sort of paper trail, but not impossible.
