no fixing, no cash

I was rear ended, minimal damage, agread to settle outside of insurance, they say if they do not pay repair shop drectly, then I get none of the estimate to fix my car, i want them to pay me cash in hand for the damage they casued. Do I have to let them pay the repair shop or can they pay me cash?

Make a written agreement for payment of the damages, which releases them of all further liability, and they pay you the damage.

If they refuse, then contact the insurance company.
