Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

free computer, hopefully

recently gateway computers mistakenly sent me a computer that belonged to someone else. i was wondering if i had to send it back or if i can keep it at no cost to myself. i would greatly appreciate a reply

there is no such "law" as "finders, keepers". If you keep something that doesn't belong to you and you know it, that's theft. You are under a duty to notify Gateway and inform them of their mistake. You would not have to pay shipping or any other expenses. Maybe they will give you a gift certificate for your honesty. It doesn't hurt to ask.
