Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas
I gave someone $1000 cash in exchange for a personal check. They put a stop payment on it. So, when I tried to cash it, The bank kept it, and sent me a copy of the check advising me to contact the the maker. How should I attempt to recover the money?

Call the person first. If no luck calling the person, you should file a lawsuit.
