Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Gifts or Loan

Kinda of a long question but let me try to be quick. My fiancee was given new furniture from her parents (loan issued in their name) as well as a Credit card to use for school and living expenses(in her parents name). also when she turned 18 her parents bought her a car(in there name). Recently the relationship has turned sour and they are stating that all of that was a loan rather than gifts. I recieved a call saying that they were going to file suit for everything. Also, they came and picked the car up and took it away from her. No written contracts were made and as far as i know no verbal contracts were made. Can they sue her and win? who wins in a ''he said she said'' battle? What recourse can she take to avoid legal problems? Thank you.

Re: Gifts or Loan

As to your last question, she'd have to kiss and make up with them, or repay them, or give back the furniture.

Can they sue her? Sure. Can they win? Maybe. Who wins in a "he said, she said" battle? Usually the most credible.

Could they take the car? Sure, since title was in their name.
