Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Hello,

I lost my job in 2009 and had to move to my home country. I had a credit card debt of near 5000USD which I failed to pay off. Now I want to pay it off since I have a decent job but I don't know how to pay it now since I am not presently staying in USA. I am not sure if the debt is under litigation. Do the credit card companies go for litigation if the debt is 5000 $? I am planning to move to USA, will there be any issue.
