Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Hi

My brother sponsored our parents for GC and they became permanent resident last year. Since they are above 65 and with pre-existing conditions we could not find a medical insurance for them. Some time ago my mother ended up in emergency. At the hospital my brother did not sign anything and since my mother does not have any income or assets hospital agreed to file for emergency medicaid. Since emergency medicaid is outside scope of affidavit of support that my brother signed while he was sponsoring them, we know that if approved my brother will not be held responsible for the expenses that incurred during my mother's hospital visit.

My question is that if this emergency medicaid is denied (for any reason) can the hospital come after my brother even though he DID NOT sign anything at the hospital. Can the hospital hold my brother responsible because of the fact that he sponsored our parents and she is living with him and is considered dependent (from immigration stand point)? Any help would be useful.

nno....not in my opinion..and unless oone agrees to be responsible, hospital normally does not seek pay ..hence, big argument over health care
