Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas
Hospital Lien on Real Property
Where can you get details (amount, interest) of a Hospital Lien? The lien was the result of an accident that occurred in 1990 and was filed in 1991. It appears in the County Clerk's real propery records in Harris County. A copy of the lien record does not show an amount. Where would this information be?

Re: Hospital Lien on Real Property
If A injures B through A's negligence, and B requires hospital treatment for those injuries, the hospital has a lien for its services given to B of up to 100 days of healthcare against B's cause of action against A. That is, the hospital has a claim for reimbursement from any judgment or settlement paid by A or its insurers to B.
The amount is the hospital bill.
