Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Hospital's legal rights on minimum monthly payments by patient

My daughter has been paying $50/mo. toward her hospital bill, & now they are telling her she must pay $350 or more a month, or she will be legally prosecuted. Can they legally do this? Isn't the fact that she's paying what she can afford her legal right? Can they prosecute to make her pay more? Her total owed was abour $1600, & she's been paying $50/mo. for several months. Thank you.

Re: Hospital's legal rights on minimum monthly payments by patient

The hospital can sue your daughter for the unpaid balance. "I can't pay any more" is not a legal excuse for not paying off a debt.
