Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Identity Theft - Credit Card Account

my wife never opened a store credit card account and last year she recieved a call from collection agency stating that her outstanding balance of 2500 is not paid on that particular account. she called the credit card company and to her surprise she found out that there is an account under her name. she was out of country at the time of account transactions - ATM Cash withdrawl transactions which were reported on the account. she provided all the information she could to credit bureaus, store credit card company, collection agencies and FTC. She requsted numerous times to send the copies of the transactions for the particular dates on the account and the credit card company never did. They keep on giving it to different collection agencies and are requesting the same information over and over. This is quite frustrating.

Please advice what further action needs to be taken to end this saga!!

Perhaps a lawyer's letter concerning fair debt violations, demand for damages, etc..would help and possibly obtain payment for the mental anguish etc...but few lawyers will take on a contingency..If you want help, call us
