Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas
Identity Theft
I was just wondering how far can I legally take the case if i were to find the person using my social security number and opening accounts under my name. Can I legally take everything that he has? How can I justify my situation after being denied credit for the other person's fault?

Re: Identity Theft
Damages in a lawsuit are calculated against what your losses are. Damages are not calculated according to what the defendant has. You must present proof of your losses and damages. In some cases, future losses can be reasonably calculated and compensated.
