inability to pay debts due to disability from mental illness

my son is disabled with a mental illness...10 yrs ago or so he got a small student loan and got in debt on some credit cards...he is now totally disabled and on disability and doesnt work due to his mental illness ..i am the one who is helping him clear this up....he is very sick and with the state mhmr program in tx...i have been trying to get the dept of ed student loan forgiven on permenant disability reasons now for 4 yrs and finally they did ok the medical part...but there are some credit card companys calling and i need some legal truth to tell them to get them to leave us alone we have had his case worker at mhmr send letters telling them he is sick and cant work and wont ever get to work again due to his mental illness but they keep bothering him ..he has a conditon that if he gets too upset or depressed he could committ suicide..he has acute bipolar disorder/ schizo affective and this is why im doing all the work on this to help him so he wont get the stress of it..with the drugs hes on he cant process things as they affect his thinking ...please give me some facts to tell them and the limits on credit card debt and if there is a debt limit on the student loan ..both the student loan and credit card loan is under $2500

We have told our clients when harrassed to tell creditors they have a lawyer...if under $2500 and if you have all the info on creditors we may agree you could do the same...if creditors contact you after that, they could be liable for damages, and attorney fees.
