Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Inheritance

I am owed about $100,000.00 from my grandmother's estate, but the person who borrowed money from her is not paying it back. He has made several promises, but has broken them. I don't have the money to sue him. His lawer will only give minimal information to the person who is handling the estate. I live in TX and this man lives in AK. My Grandmother died in aug '08. It has been almost a year now and he has yet to pay his debt. I don't know what to do in order to get my money. He owes a total of $400,000.00 to the estate. There are 3 other heirs who are waiting on their share of the money. I have a letter from the lawyer from february '09 that says the man would pay within two weeks of that letter. It is now 5 months later and we don't know anything. What should I do?

Re: Inheritance

You should repost your question addressed to attorneys that regularly practice probate, wills and estates law. My guess is that all of the heirs need to DEMAND that the executor hire a lawyer on behalf of the estate to sue to collect the monies owed.
